The Preschool Pathways Classroom

How we look ahead to set your child up for success.

Our Preschool Pathways program provides a “bridge” between our Early Preschool and Preschool classrooms for children whose birthdays will miss the cutoff date for kindergarten entrance. By staying with a consistent group of peers through preschool, pre-K and kindergarten and enjoying developmentally appropriate learning experiences to meet their individual strengths and opportunities, they’ll develop Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts® together.

Active Minds

Learning is exciting. It’s a chance to unleash curiosity and discover new things. Our Balanced Learning® approach is designed to tap into children's natural desire to learn by combining purposeful play and nurturing guidance from teachers.
  • Language & Literacy
    Language & Literacy

In Preschool Pathways, your child builds vocabulary while engaging in meaningful discussions and conversations with adults and peers. You may notice your child using new vocabulary words learned during read-alouds, hands-on explorations and daily literacy experiences.

  • Science, Engineering and Technology
    Science, Engineering and Technology

Your child’s endless curiosity makes them a natural scientist. Their teachers will encourage that exploration by supporting your child as they investigate, solve problems and learn new things about the world.

  • Mathematics
    Mathematics

Your child explores mathematical and spatial concepts like comparing and sorting objects, building block structures and creating patterns. We help extend this learning into your home by sharing engaging math activities with you that showcase what your child is learning at school.

  • Social Studies
    Social Studies

Your child learns and practices compassion, sharing and generosity as adults encourage and serve as role models for these traits. Teachers also help your child learn about being kind to others through the Primrose Friends puppets.

Healthy Bodies

Through physical activity, nutrition and care routines like washing hands, we help young children develop healthy habits that can last a lifetime.
  • Thumbs Up!: Physical Development
    Thumbs Up!: Physical Development

To encourage your child to be active and healthy, our Thumbs Up! program helps them develop confidence while improving balance, coordination and agility as they slide, run and play on age-appropriate playgrounds.

  • Health and Safety
    Health and Safety

Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of children and staff. Each Primrose school maintains high standards of cleanliness and safety while also creating a caring environment where every child can thrive.

  • Balanced Menus: Nutrition
    Balanced Menus: Nutrition

When your child has lunch and snacks with their friends and teachers, it’s an opportunity for more than eating tasty, nutritious food. Teachers talk about the foods they are enjoying and why nutrition is important, and seeing their friends eating a new food makes it more likely that your child will give it a try!

Happy Hearts

Primrose school teachers weave character development and life skills opportunities in throughout every day so children can develop important social skills — like sharing, cooperation and making decisions.
  • Happy Hearts Character Development Program®
    Happy Hearts Character Development Program®

It’s crucial for children to learn the importance of respect, friendship and kindness. That’s why Primrose school teachers use our exclusive Happy Hearts Character Development Program to create daily experiences that give your child the chance to learn about and practice these traits and more.

  • Harmony & Heart: Music, Movement & Literature
Harmony & Heart: Music, Movement & Literature

Our exclusive Harmony & Heart® program uses original books, music and Primrose Friends puppets to help your child learn important skills like patience, curiosity and empathy.

  • Life & Social Skills

The Primrose Rules of the Roost help teachers create a positive, joyful classroom environment. These essential rules help your child practice kindness, take care of the classroom materials and be respectful to each person they meet.

  • Early Art Masters: Creative Arts and Expression
Early Art Masters: Creative Arts and Expression

By exploring music, various art techniques and other forms of creative expression, your child will grow their imagination and critical-thinking skills, which will help in every area of learning and development.

Personalized Care and Instruction

Teachers pay close attention to your child’s development, and they personalize learning experiences to meet individual needs. We call these experiences Wonder Time. Wonder Time is based on concrete sensory experiences such as seeing, touching, hearing and smelling, and they are designed to tap into your child’s natural learning processes.

See What Families Are Saying

My child has been here since the Younger Toddler class, and has moved up to the Preschool Pathway class. He has been shown love since the beginning! I love getting updates through Procare, so I can feel involved in his day. The teachers are very interactive and attentive and show that they take the time to know my child personally!
