The Preschool Classroom

To your preschooler, nothing is impossible!

Your 3-year-old is opening up their world, developing special friendships, learning words and forming ideas every day. Through purposeful play and nurturing guidance from teachers, children learn to think in new and bigger ways as they build Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts®. Your child will have so much fun that they won’t even realize they are developing their math and literacy skills.

Active Minds

Your preschooler is beginning to connect letters, sounds and numbers as they expand their world through reading and math. They’re building critical-thinking skills and using their natural curiosity to make new discoveries every day.
  • Language & Literacy
    Language & Literacy

Your child learns that books can tell fun and exciting stories, provide information and be used to communicate. Story reading and retelling are great ways to build and enhance early literacy skills like listening and speaking, comprehension and vocabulary.

  • Science, Engineering & Technology
    Science, Engineering & Technology

Children are natural scientists and engineers. They turn their environment upside down trying to discover how objects work. Teachers extend this learning by engaging your child in exploration and meaningful discussion.

  • Mathematics
    Mathematics

Your preschooler is laying the foundation for addition, multiplication and even algebra as they explore simpler concepts like comparing and sorting objects, recognizing quantities without counting (subitizing), and identifying, extending and creating patterns.

  • Social Studies

The Primrose Friends puppets reinforce specific character traits — like compassion, sharing and generosity — through discussions, storytelling and role-playing. Your child also learns the ways humans and other animals are alike and different as well as how to work well with others.

Healthy Bodies

Every day, we help young children practice physical development skills and understand nutrition so they can develop healthy habits and care for their bodies.
  • Thumbs Up!: Physical Development
    Thumbs Up!: Physical Development

Your child develops body awareness while increasing movement skills such as running, skipping and galloping as they explore age-appropriate playgrounds.

  • Health and Safety

When it comes to children and staff, their health and safety has always been our top priority. That’s why every Primrose school is committed to high standards of safety and cleanliness as they create a nurturing environment that helps children thrive.

  • Balanced Menus: Nutrition
    Balanced Menus: Nutrition

During their tasty and nutritious lunch with their friends and teachers, your child becomes more independent as they practice serving themselves and cleaning up after meals.

Happy Hearts

Preschool is the best time to instill a strong sense of character. At Primrose, we do this through books, music, activities and more.
  • Happy Hearts Character Development Program®
    Happy Hearts Character Development Program®

Primrose school teachers use our exclusive Happy Hearts Character Development Program to create experiences that help children learn about important values like respect, friendship and kindness.

  • Harmony & Heart: Music, Movement & Literature
Harmony & Heart: Music, Movement & Literature

Twice a day, every day, our exclusive Harmony & Heart® program uses music, movement and books featuring our Primrose Friends to help children learn to be more dynamic thinkers, better listeners and kinder people.

  • Life & Social Skills
    Life & Social Skills

Through the Rules of the Roost led by Primrose Friend Percy the rooster, your preschooler learns about important things like being kind to others and trying to make your community, school and home better for everyone.

  • Early Art Masters: Creative Arts & Expression
Early Art Masters: Creative Arts & Expression

At Primrose, there are a variety of ways your child explores visual and creative arts, from music and literature to painting and dramatic play. These activities stimulate their imagination and critical-thinking skills, which will enhance other areas of learning and development.

Personalized Care and Instruction

As your preschooler begins to engage in more sustained learning experiences, their teachers help them explore new ways to approach problems through persistence and trial-and-error. Their teachers also pay close attention to your child’s development and adapt the learning experiences to meet their strengths and opportunities.

See What Families Are Saying

The greatest thing about Primrose is the combination of the care and warmth of the administration and staff, and the small classroom environment. My preschooler loves to attend Primrose because he loves and is motivated by his teachers, and he loves to be with his friends. At the same time, his love for reading and learning has just grown exponentially. Every time I pick him up from school, I end up staying an extra 20 minutes while my son plays and engages with friends and teachers at school.
Primrose School has been such a wonderful experience for our family! As a working mom, one of the hardest things you deal with is leaving your kids each morning. Luckily, my family not only found an amazing staff who cares for and teaches our daughters, but we also found a place with staff that truly feels like family. We have been through the Infant Room to Preschool Room and can honestly say that we have loved every moment. The curriculum is wonderful, the communication is fantastic, the leadership team is excellent, and most importantly the genuine care for my children is everything I had hoped for and more! We are so proud to be a Primrose Family!
