The Early Preschool Classroom

Purposeful learning experiences that can be personalized for your child.

Many 2-year-olds want to do everything by themselves. And why not? It’s their way of experimenting and learning to understand the world. Early Preschool teachers provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment where your child can explore while building Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts®.

Active Minds

Through books, activities and engaging learning experiences, our Balanced Learning® approach nurtures your child’s endless curiosity and encourages exploration.
  • Language & Literacy
    Language & Literacy

You may notice that every day your child is using a new word and is beginning to put words together into phrases and sentences. Throughout each day at Primrose, your child builds vocabulary while engaging in meaningful discussions and conversations with adults and peers.

  • Science, Engineering & Technology
    Science, Engineering & Technology

Your 2-year-old is a natural scientist with a curiosity that knows no bounds. Every day, teachers will nurture that curiosity by encouraging questions and guiding your child as they investigate and make new discoveries about the world.

  • Mathematics
    Mathematics

As your child explores puzzles, blocks and fun objects to count, they learn about numbers, geometry, problem solving and more! To keep the learning going, your child can also bring math activities home to share what they are learning.

  • Social Studies

Through discussions, storytelling and role-playing with the Primrose Friends puppets, your child learns and practices compassion, sharing and generosity. They also learn about the people around them and how to be kind to others.

Healthy Bodies

Every day is an opportunity to help children be healthy and take care of their bodies. That’s why Primrose school teachers weave health and wellness into daily classroom experiences all year long.
  • Thumbs Up!: Physical Development
    Thumbs Up!: Physical Development

Active children are more likely to become active adults. Every day your child will strengthen gross motor skills by sliding, climbing, jumping and running freely and safely on age-appropriate playgrounds.

  • Health & Safety
    Health & Safety

Our top priority has always been the health and safety of children and staff. That’s why we hold each Primrose school to high standards of cleanliness and safety as they create and maintain a nurturing environment where children can thrive.

  • Balanced Menus: Nutrition
    Balanced Menus: Nutrition

Your child enjoys a tasty, nutritious lunch with their friends and teachers. All food is cut into small pieces, and the teachers talk to the children about the foods they are enjoying. Plus, when your child sees their friends eating a new food, they’re more likely to try it!

Happy Hearts

At Primrose, our Balanced Learning® approach supports the whole child. As part of that, we introduce important concepts like character development and life skills early — because we believe who children become is as important as what they know.
  • Happy Hearts Character Development Program®
    Happy Hearts Character Development Program®

Every day, Primrose school teachers use our exclusive Happy Hearts Character Development Program to create learning experiences that teach the importance of values like respect, generosity, friendship and kindness.

  • Harmony & Heart: Music, Movement & Literature
Harmony & Heart: Music, Movement & Literature

We created the Harmony & Heart® program to combine music, movement and books featuring our Primrose Friends to help children learn important skills like patience, curiosity and empathy.

  • Life & Social Skills
    Life & Social Skills

Creating a positive, joyful classroom environment begins with learning the Primrose Rules of the Roost. These simple rules help your child practice kindness, caring for classroom materials and being respectful to each person they encounter.

  • Early Art Masters: Creative Arts & Expression
Early Art Masters: Creative Arts & Expression

Exploring visual and creative arts is a great way to stimulate your child’s imagination and critical-thinking skills, which will enhance other areas of learning and development. For example, music is a universal language made up of patterns and sequences, and teachers use it to reinforce math and reading.

Personalized Care and Instruction

Early Preschool teachers partner with you to help your child learn important independent life skills like potty training and hand washing. They pay close attention to your child’s development and introduce then reinforce concepts in ways that tap into their natural learning processes. Every learning experience is purposeful, and teachers have the flexibility to adapt and personalize it for each child.

See What Families Are Saying

My son has been at Primrose just about since he was born and I can confidently say we would not change any part of our time. We have experienced the infant, toddler, early preschool and now preschool programs, and could not be happier. Every single teacher he has had has exhibited nothing but love and care for him. They supported his development in the ways you would expect, but also were incredibly helpful when we found that his speech was delayed and he was going to need additional help to catch up. now as he figures out how to navigate the world as a rambunctious three year old, they continue to provide him the support, structure, and challenge that he needs to thrive. School is just about his favorite place on earth. I know he feels loved and safe when he is at school and I could not ask for more than that. There is no other school I would even consider for my child.
Our children have gone to Primrose for nearly four years now, and we feel so immensely grateful to be part of the Primrose family. The staff and teachers are so thoughtful, and seek to truly engage and care for their students each day.
