Health & Safety

Our school is committed to high standards of safety and cleanliness as we create a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever to return home and stay home until fever free for at least 24 hours
Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys
Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access

I’m Ms. May. I wanted to tell you a little about myself. I was born in Dallas, Tx. My whole family is from chihuahua, Mexico. I love spending time with family, friends and traveling to new places exploring different foods and cultures.

My Favorite Thing About Working with Children: My favorite thing about working with kids would be watching them grown and learn along with the love and smiles everyday.

Ms. Kylie Alcorn

Young Toddler Co - Lead Teacher

Hi! My name is Kylie Alcorn, and I am going into my junior year at the University of Arkansas. I plan on earning my master’s degree in childhood education and becoming a teacher! I graduated from Allen High School in 2024, and I have two younger brothers and two dogs. I love having the opportunity to work with kids, and I look forward to getting to know your children! Ms. K is a junior in college and worked at the Stephen G. Terrell Recreation Center for 2 years. While attending school in Arkansas, she works at Trinity Preparatory Day School in the infant and toddler room.

She loves watching children grow, develop their personalities, and form friendships! Her favorite family tradition is making homemade donuts on Christmas Day. In her personal time, she loves spending time with friends and family, being active, and reading.

🌱 Balanced Learning in Action: A Primrose Patch Surprise! 🌱

Our toddlers took a walk to revisit the patch. To everyone’s amazement, not only were the flowers in bloom, but hiding among the leaves were two giant watermelons! 🍉🍉 Moments like these are perfect examples of Balanced Learning® at work—where purposeful play meets discovery, and young children build a love for learning through real-world experiences. From sensory exploration to language development (“Watermelon!” was the word of the day!) and joyful movement outdoors, the day was filled with meaningful learning. We are so proud of our little gardeners and grateful to our families for planting the seeds—literally and figuratively—that helped make this moment possible.

✨ The Power of Modeling in Early Childhood Education ✨

At Primrose School of West Allen, we believe that strong teaching starts with strong modeling. Today, our Director of Education, Mrs. Jessica, and our Curriculum Specialist, Ms. Leslie, worked side by side with our Young Toddler teachers to model a Sign Language lesson. 💛 What an incredible example of teamwork and support! Having our leadership team step into the classroom ensures that we are delivering exactly what we promise to our families every single day — excellence, consistency, and meaningful learning experiences. Learning sign language at a young age helps toddlers build early communication skills, reduce frustration, strengthen vocabulary development, and boost confidence — even before they can fully verbalize their thoughts. Watching our little ones follow directions, practice new signs, and actively participate at such a young age is simply amazing! 🌟 Their growth is a true reflection of intentional teaching, collaboration, and heart. We are so proud of our dedicated team and our wonderful students! 💕
