Bethany and Alonzo Durham
Hello! We are Alonzo and Bethany Durham, the proud owners of Primrose School of South Reno. My husband and I are so excited to bring the first Primrose School to the state of Nevada! Born and raised in the wonderful state of Nevada – I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada. My passion for educating met my love of sales and marketing as I grew into my career as a Health and Life Insurance Broker. Alonzo moved to Reno to attend the University of Nevada, playing football for the Wolf Pack, and graduated with a degree in Speech Communications. He’s now a sommelier and manager for the largest distributor in the area.
As a dual-career family, we know the difficulty of entrusting our children to someone else’s care during the work day. We were able to find suitable care for our children, but I found myself desiring more in their early childhood education. I eventually took a turn in my career to have a home-based business during their preschool years. As they got older and began their elementary school education, I desired to re-commit to my career goals with a new passion: serving families with a nurturing and educational early learning experience they could trust.
While researching opportunities in childcare and early learning, we found Primrose Schools consistently leading the industry. As we explored the option of becoming franchise owners, we were so impressed with the level of care and education being provided to the children at the schools we visited. Every interaction with school locations and franchise support left us knowing, without a doubt, that our community needed a Primrose School. We continue to be amazed by their outstanding approach to education, social emotional enrichment, and character development.
South Reno is our home, and we are so excited to bring an exceptional program to our community’s families.I’m eager to introduce you to Primrose and show you how our belief statement resonates in everything we do: “We believe who children become is as important as what they know”.
