Our school is more than a daycare. Through purposeful play and nurturing guidance, we help lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Right next to Gahanna/John E. Preschool Pathways Wonder Time!
Today we brought out our Primrose Friend Erwin and took a picture walk through our ocean book to learn all about the beach and sand! 🌊 The children shared their beach experiences, described how sand feels, and talked about what they might see in the ocean. Then we built colorful paper sandcastles, adding designs and recycled “shells” to make each one unique. This hands-on activity strengthened fine motor skills, creativity, language development, and early comparison skills as we noticed how our castles were alike and different.
Prekindergarten Literacy!
Today, our Pre-Kindergarten friends focused on the letter Xx and listened for its sound at the end of words. Using our “rubber band stretch” technique and Elkonin boxes, students segmented and blended sounds! Hands-on, engaging, and strengthening early reading skills every step of the way!
Older Infant Art!
Today, our Older Infants explored a colorful painting and created their own masterpieces using textured paper, crayons, and paint. The children practiced short strokes just like real artists while building fine motor skills and creativity. We love watching their imaginations come to life!
