From the moment we stepped into Primrose, we knew we had struck gold. Here's why this daycare isn't just a facility, but a community that cherishes our little one's big and small steps alike. First off, the teachers are fantastic, their positivity is infectious, and their focus on socio-emotional learning is the cornerstone of their teaching philosophy. They understand that intelligence is not just about ABCs and 123s, but also about empathy, kindness, and resilience. Their curriculum focuses on character development lessons using Primrose Friends- 12 engaging classroom puppets that help foster traits like compassion, creativity, gratitude and honesty. Our hearts swell up with pride as we think about how our toddler has learned to share, and to navigate the complex world of emotions and relationships with a grace that is beyond her age. Primrose makes it a point to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures represented across the families. They organize cultural events and parades that are a riot of color and joy, from Halloween festivities, cultural parades and showcases that turn every day into a mini world fair. I also appreciate their attention to detail. Their 'shoes-off' policy at the classroom door shows their commitment to cleanliness and respect for the space where our children play, learn, and grow. Primrose is where our child thrives, learns, and is genuinely loved. Just today, as I pulled into the parking lot of Primrose, our daughter pointed to the building and clapped her hands. We feel reassured that our little one is in the most loving hands when we're not around. We couldn't be more grateful to be a part of this community.

Meet Sima Shah, proud Owner of Primrose School of Willow Glen, Cupertino, Almaden and Milpitas. As a longtime resident of California’s Silicon Valley, she is excited to help introduce San Francisco Bay Area parents to the premier child care and early education experience Primrose has provided to many other children around the country.
Research-based and Innovative Education is Sima’s passion. She earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles after immigrating to the U.S. with her husband Amar Chokhawala. Sima worked as a computer engineer while also molding young minds as an adjunct professor of at several local colleges and universities in the Computer Science Department. Amar was an early Google employee before he founded his own software company, Reflektion in 2013, where he will continue serving as Chief Executive Officer.
When their first daughter, Amiya, was born in 2005, Sima struggled to find trusted and high-quality care, and eventually decided to keep her daughter at home with a full-time nanny. After the birth of her second daughter, Risa, in 2008, Sima decided to enroll Amiya into a Bay Area preschool. Not long after, Sima found the program lacked the holistic approach she’d hoped to find. It focused too much on structure and teacher-guided activities and did not provide enough opportunities for play and exploration. As a result, Sima tried to create her own “balanced program” by sending her daughter to a structured school three days a week, and a child-initiated play-based program for the other two days.
It was during this time Sima and her husband first learned about Primrose Schools through an advertisement in the Wall Street Journal; however, there were not any Primrose schools in California at the time.
“I knew that children needed both exploration and structure, and I kept thinking that someone had to already have a program that is more balanced. When I found Primrose, I was so pleased to see that they built their entire curriculum around this idea of balance,” said Sima. “Never having experienced it myself, I was skeptical until I flew out to Colorado to visit my first Primrose school. The moment I entered the school, I was wowed by the entire experience: people, culture, approach, environment, and curriculum.
At Primrose School of Cupertino, Sima will strive to provide a nurturing atmosphere and environment that fosters all aspects of their student’s development. Her goal is to promote the social-emotional aspect of growth, which enhances learning for children. She wants parents to feel welcome and confident that Primrose is the best option for their children.
“In today’s world, if both parents work, a child spends at least 40 hours a week at her education facility. We always think of making our homes inspiring and comfortable for our children. At Primrose School of Cupertino, we want the same for our students. Our facility will be filled with the same quality of care, attention, and comfort children experience at home,” said Sima.

Older Infant Classroom (12-18m)
We know the first year of life can have a big influence on a child’s success in the years that follow. That’s why teachers in your infant’s classroom foster Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts® through a nurturing environment with plenty of cuddles. This includes literacy; communication and vocabulary skills to help your infant better express their needs; gross motor skills and sensory development; and emotional well-being.
Playgrounds
Active children become active adults. We show your child fun ways to practice proper techniques for movement, balance and motor skills with plenty of time to slide, climb and run on our age-appropriate playgrounds. 
Young Toddler Classroom (18-24m)
Every day full of action, fun and purposeful play helps toddlers at Primrose schools of Cupertino develop Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts®. Your toddler is constantly on the move, exploring and learning at every turn, so teachers use that energy and enthusiasm to foster cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills through engaging games and activities.
Preschool (3-4yr) old
Your 3-year-old is opening up their world, developing special friendships, learning words and forming ideas every day. Through purposeful play and nurturing guidance from teachers, children learn to think in new and bigger ways as they build Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts®. Your child will have so much fun that they won’t even realize they are developing their math and literacy skills.
Early Preschool (2-3 yr)
Many 2-year-olds want to do everything by themselves. And why not? It’s their way of experimenting and learning to understand the world. Early Preschool teachers provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment where your child can explore while building Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts®.
Prekindergarten Classroom (4-5y old)
Primrose® introduces and reinforces new information through playful exploration, teacher-guided inquiry and rich discussion as they help foster Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts®. Your child will have fun every day as they play and learn important academic skills, social skills and more, because when they are mentally, physically and emotionally ready to learn a skill, they develop mastery.
