Our Infant Classroom

We know the first year of life can have a big influence on a child’s success in the years that follow. That’s why teachers in your child’s Infant classroom provide a loving and nurturing environment as they lay the foundation for learning. This includes literacy; communication and vocabulary skills to help your infant better express their needs; gross motor skills and sensory development; and emotional well-being.

Active Minds

Learning is exciting, and your infant is eager to learn with a natural curiosity that knows no bounds. Our Balanced Learning® approach provides teachers with the tools and guidance to fully support each child while paying close attention to all aspects of their development.
  • Language & Literacy
    Language & Literacy

Throughout the day, Infant teachers use sign language and read books to your little one. They talk and sing with your child during feeding, diaper changes and playtime. These interactions provide one-to-one attention while also helping your baby begin to understand language and conversation.

  • Science, Engineering & Technology
    Science, Engineering & Technology

Children enter the world as natural scientists, curious to observe and explore how the world works and their role in it. All the while, they’re honing their senses and developing skills like observing and problem solving.

  • Mathematics
    Mathematics

While math may sound like a big topic for an infant, they’re learning about shapes as they interact with toys, they explore numbers as teachers count their toes and they use all their senses to explore.

  • Social Studies
    Social Studies

Your baby is learning about the people around them. With the support of caring teachers in this classroom, they learn how to interact with them and build relationships.

  • Thumbs Up!: Physical Development
    Thumbs Up!: Physical Development

Motor skills are important building blocks for physical activity. That’s why your child’s teacher helps your infant focus on key small and large motor skills by reaching for and picking up objects, rolling, sitting, crawling and finally walking.

    Balanced Menus: Nutrition

Infants have special dietary needs and teachers remain attentive to your little one’s feeding schedule. When it comes time for solid food, adjustments are made to prepare the food items offered that take into consideration their development, with parent or guardian permission.

I was born in Mergui, Myanmar. I grew up in Bangkok, Thailand. I had been in San Jose, California for 18 years. I’m the middle child of 3 siblings. I can cook pretty much anything but no baking for me. I love to travel, work out, listen to diverse music, eat spicy foods, and listen to diverse music. One day I want to travel to Europe and have a foods/travel journey. One of the sweetest rewards I get from my career is to be able to cherish their warm hugs and happy smiles.

Hi I’m Andrea! Here is a bit about myself. Before joining Primrose School, I was a daycare assistant for 2 years at a home based family business daycare. Huge step for me to start at a home based daycare to an actual school, but also very exciting and fun. In those 2 years of experience working with children, I learned that I love seeing kids grow up and help them progress in their education. I have a nephew that I love so much and seeing him grow up made me enjoy and love watching children grow up and learn all these new and fun things.

My hometown: San Jose, California

My Child Care experience: 2 years of children education.

Education Background: The highest I went was High School at
Abraham Lincoln High School. I was always the quiet kid in school but
later on in my last year of high school I interacted with more people
and made more friends.

Favorite food: Spaghetti. Anything kinda related to pasta is my
favorite. Just not shrimp because I am allergic to them.

Favorite weekend activity: I love spending time with family. I’m very
family oriented. Also, I like to attend concerts. My favorite genres are
Pop, Spanish, and most importantly KPOP. I love drawings, it’s a good
way for me to clear my mind if I have anything heavy going on.

Favorite childrens book: Clifford The Big Red Dog. Growing up in
school those would be the only books I would read and watch the
cartoon show as well. There’s many other books I like but that one has
to be my top favorite.

A Primrose character I relate to the most : Percy the Rooster. As a
shy and quiet person, I will always try my best to be the best version
of myself. Being quiet can be a good thing but also a bad thing
because you have all these things in your head and sometimes you’re
afraid of speaking up because you may think you’re doing something
wrong. Over the years, I have dealt with a lot of things and some of
those things I would always keep to myself. But with the help of family
and friends I got past that and I am a better version of myself now.

This school year I am most excited for: the kids’ growth. Helping
them with moving forward as they go. Teaching them all these fun
ideas that will come along the way. Interacting with parents to show
how their child is progressing. The fun activities we will do. But most
importantly to have fun and be happy.

Our family would love to meet yours.
