Our Infant Classroom

We know the first year of life can have a big influence on a child’s success in the years that follow. That’s why teachers in your child’s Infant classroom provide a loving and nurturing environment as they lay the foundation for learning. This includes literacy; communication and vocabulary skills to help your infant better express their needs; gross motor skills and sensory development; and emotional well-being.

Health & Safety

At Primrose Schools, our classrooms are intentionally designed to feel warm, engaging, and inspiring — creating spaces where children feel safe, confident, and excited to learn each day. At the Primrose School of Edina, each classroom reflects our Balanced Learning® approach by combining purposeful play, hands-on exploration, nurturing guidance, and strong educational foundations.

Our classrooms are bright, organized, and thoughtfully arranged with clearly defined learning areas that encourage curiosity, independence, creativity, and collaboration. From cozy reading corners and STEM discovery centers to dramatic play areas, sensory experiences, and creative art spaces, every environment is designed to support the developmental needs of each age group while fostering Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts®.

You’ll find classrooms filled with:

  • Warm, welcoming teachers building meaningful relationships with children
  • Engaging lesson materials tied to our Balanced Learning® curriculum
  • Beautifully displayed children’s artwork and learning documentation
  • Hands-on learning centers that encourage exploration and imagination
  • Structured routines balanced with creativity, movement, and play
  • Calm, clean, and nurturing environments that promote confidence and belonging

Each classroom grows alongside the children in it. Our Infant classrooms focus on comfort, connection, sensory exploration, and responsive caregiving. Toddler classrooms are filled with movement, language development, and hands-on discovery. Preschool and Pre-K classrooms become more collaborative and academically rich, supporting kindergarten readiness through literacy, math, science, social-emotional learning, character development, and purposeful play.

At the Primrose School of Edina, we believe the classroom environment is more than just a space — it’s a place where children build confidence, friendships, independence, compassion, and a lifelong love of learning.
