Soha and Ali Gowani

Welcome to Primrose Schools!

My name is Soha Gowani. My husband Ali Gowani and I are the proud owners and operators of Primrose School of South Elgin. We have two beautiful school age children, Lia and Noah. As parents, we understand how difficult it can be to find both a safe and educational environment that provides the exceptional level of care we expect for our most precious gifts. We are beyond excited to be a part of the Primrose family and to share this amazing school with the South Elgin communities.

I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center with 20 years of experience in the industry. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Elmhurst College and my Master of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois University with specialization in family practice. As a nurse practitioner, I have significant experience working in primary care and interventional pain medicine. I have also taught as an adjunct faculty member for both Rasmussen and DePaul University. Over the last few years, I have volunteered my time and served on the health board with a focus on non-communicable disease management for the Ismaili Health Professionals Association.

My husband, Ali, is an executive and leadership expert, with over 15 plus years of experience leading diverse departments including support groups, field operations and engineering groups. Ali earned his Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from DePaul University and his Master of Science in Communications from Northwestern University. In addition, he holds Microsoft certified technology specialist, Microsoft certified IT professional, lean six-sigma green belt, and project management professional certifications. He currently serves as the president of MitoTec, LLC, where he is responsible for revenue and expenses and leading the ongoing planning and implementation of information technologies that support the company’s core missions.

Ali and I believe it takes a village to raise a child. Primrose is that village for parents with our Balanced Learning® approach, which balances purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion.  We deliver more than a curriculum; it’s a life-changing early learning experience for children and their families.

See What Families Are Saying

I will start with my biggest regret- not having my children enrolled here sooner. This is a school. This is not a glorified daycare. This is absolutely an environment that fosters learning, growth, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Our oldest child went through the private Kindergarten at Primrose and the impact this singular decision will have on his future far exceeds anything we could have hoped for. He got more than a foundation at Primrose- he got a solid education and a skillset that will have a lifelong influence. Upon graduating from the Primrose private kindergarten program, he went on to public school where he is in their kindergarten (we didn’t want to push him ahead to 1st grade as we wanted the transition to elementary school to be easier on him). We have learned that he is not at a kindergarten reading level- he is at a SECOND GRADE reading level! Not only that, but we have been informed that of the 10 children that graduated from Primrose last year (either from the pre-K or Kindergarten program) and then went on to attend our same public elementary school, ALL TEN children are above grade level for reading. They are advanced enough that they are having to be pulled from their regular classroom reading time to work with a teacher that can teach them phonics/reading at the level these children are already at. There are only 2 non-Primrose children in their elementary school that are also being pulled for advanced phonics/reading skills. Furthermore, we have been informed that our son is also advanced in his math skills, and he will be pulled from his regular kindergarten math coursework to focus on more challenging math curriculum that more closely meets him where his skills lie. Now I would LOVE to take credit for his achievements. I would love to tell you that mom and dad taught him all that he knows. But that would be dishonest of me. We owe all of this development to Primrose- to the curriculum that they employ, to the safe and nurturing environment that they provide, and especially to the teachers and staff that work day and night to give these children a head start in life. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience at Primrose- they go above and beyond for their students and the community in everyway possible. THANK YOU PRIMROSE!
At the first parent-teacher conference during our son’s current kindergarten class, we learned that he was doing very well for his age and grade level. The teacher let us know that our son was being pulled out for advanced English and math classes because he was recognized as performing above average compared to his peers. I later discovered that my son and two of his classmates, along with other children from his Primrose Kindergarten classroom who are now in different Kindergarten classes at their current school, were all part of the advanced reading and math program. This demonstrates that nearly 90% of the children from their Primrose Kindergarten class have been recognized as advanced learners in their new school environments. I wanted to take a moment to share this with you and extend special recognition to their Primrose Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Thermos. She has done an incredible job shaping these young minds and preparing them to excel. Her dedication and skill in fostering a strong foundation have truly made a difference, and the results are evident in the achievements of her former students. We are deeply appreciative of the exceptional work being done at this school, and we feel fortunate to have had our son be a part of such an enriching environment.
Primrose changed my kids! We love Primrose because our kids love it. The smiles on their face and the chatty conversations over dinner, tell me they not only had a good day, they had a great day. It wasn’t like this prior to Primrose. We now know we made the right decision changing. The school, the curriculum and the staff are all focused on the children. I see both my children growing and learning new things everyday. As a parent of two, I couldn’t be more impressed with this school, and recommend it to any parent looking for a change. Thank you Primrose!
