I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our Primrose family!
I knew from an early age that I wanted to work with children. To this day, I find it to be one of the most beneficial bonds that a person can have and have seen on so many occasions how it can affect a child in so many positive ways. I have always loved the aspect of teaching. That journey began for me in college as I pursued my Bachelor of Science at Fairmont State University with an emphasis area in Early Education.
Shortly after graduating from college, I became an Early Preschool teacher at a Primrose School right here in Franklin, Tennessee. That was in October of 2000. I had just moved here from West Virginia and was still wrestling with the thought that I had left my family, friends, and home state for the first time. From almost day one, the family atmosphere at Primrose made me realize that I had made the right decision. I felt at ease and the relationships with both children and staff were immediate. Having a background in education, I knew that Primrose was something special from the beginning. The differences from other schools were abundantly clear, from the teacher-directed and child-initiated play, exclusive and Balanced Learning curriculum, to the professionalism of the staff. I knew this was where I wanted to be, and that I was making a difference and serving my passion.
After 4 years of teaching at Primrose, I then started my gymnastics business TUMBLEBUS and taught at different daycares all around Franklin. This is where I saw the difference. Primrose just seemed to be a notch above the rest and really focused on not only the environment, but the aspect of learning and growing. It was clear to me in this moment that I wanted to be more than just a teacher. I wanted to be a part of what I was witnessing day after day. I wanted to become an owner.
We opened Primrose School of Brentwood in 2010, Primrose School of Nashville Midtown in 2014 and Primrose School of 12 South most recently in 2023. That decision has continued to be an amazing journey with many more adventures yet to come.
At home, I have two beautiful children and a wonderful loving husband. Both my daughter Charlie and my son Keaton attended Primrose from age two. Primrose prepared them both for their next step into elementary school.
The importance of education and values have always been important to me, and the foundation of early education is something I hope to share with your families.
I look forward in meeting your family soon!
