Our Preschool Classroom

Your 3-year-old is opening up their world, developing special friendships, learning new words and forming new ideas every day. Through purposeful play, meaningful questions and direct instruction, our Preschool teachers encourage your child to think in new and different ways. Your child will have so much fun that they won’t even realize they’re developing the skills they’ll need for reading and math.

Active Minds

Your preschooler is beginning to connect letters, sounds and numbers as they expand their world through reading and math. They’re building critical-thinking skills and using their natural curiosity to make new discoveries every day.
  • Language & Literacy
    Language & Literacy

In the Preschool classroom, your child learns that books can tell fun and exciting stories, provide information and be used to communicate. Story reading and retelling are great ways to build listening and speaking skills, comprehension, teach sequencing and vocabulary and enhance early literacy skills.

  • Science, Engineering & Technology
    Science, Engineering & Technology

Children are natural scientists and engineers. They turn their environment upside down trying to discover how objects work! Teachers extend this learning by engaging your child in meaningful questioning and discussion.

  • Mathematics
    Mathematics

Your preschooler is laying the foundation for addition, multiplication and even algebra as they explore simpler concepts like comparing and sorting objects, recognizing quantities without counting (subitizing), and identifying, extending and creating patterns.

  • Social Studies
    Social Studies

Primrose Friends puppets reinforce specific character traits through age-appropriate discussions, story-telling and role-playing. At this age, children are able to focus on the ways humans and animals are alike and different. Your child learns about respect, kindness, and generosity, and how important these traits are when working with others.

Healthy Bodies

Every day, we help young children practice physical development skills and understand nutrition so they can develop healthy habits and care for their bodies.

Active children are more likely to become active adults. Through a wide range of indoor and outdoor games, free-play and activities, your child develops both small motor and large motor skills.

Happy Hearts

Preschool is the best time to instill a strong sense of character. At Primrose, we do this through books, music, activities and more.
  • Character Development & Life Skills
    Character Development & Life Skills

We believe who children become is as important as what they know. That’s why Preschool teachers use books, music, activities and more to help your child understand concepts like sharing, kindness and generosity.

  • Social Skills
    Social Skills

Through the Rules of the Roost and with the help of Primrose Friend Mia the mouse, your preschooler learns about being kind to others and that being a good citizen is about making your community, school and home better for everyone.

Early Art Masters: Creative Arts & Expression

Visual and creative arts stimulate your child’s imagination and critical-thinking skills, which help in other areas of learning and development. Music is a universal language made up of patterns, fractions and sequences and teachers use it to reinforce mathematical and reading concepts.
